This Festival will be ‘really cool’. Water is the basis of all life. It is the ‘new gold’ for communities worldwide and here in New Zealand. We will highlight the importance of water in our world not only as the source of life, but also its value in culture, art, landscape design, sculpture, play, recreation and the economy.

The Major Components of the 2011 Festival will include:

Water-themed Floral Carpet.
Water carnival centred on the Avon River.
Water sculpture/s.
Topiary featuring water-living animals.
Water themed floral displays.
Occasions to work with international educational water projects.
A prelude to World Water Day on 22 March.
Highlight Xeriscaping – low water use plants in the landscape.
