Theme ‘colour me beautiful christchurch, creation of new life’

Dates Entries close- Friday 10th, February 2012

Finalists announced- Monday 13th February

Concert- Sunday 26thFebruary, 2.00pm, Jack Mann Auditorium (College of Education, University of Canterbury)

The top 15 entries will be selected to perform at the Song Writing Competition Concert on Sunday 26th February. A Festival of Flowers selected panel of judges will then vote for the top performer/s on the day.

Prizes:

The winner will receive:

1. 1 day of free production time to produce a music video at Stoic Films, worth $1,000.00. The music video will then be forwarded to CTV and C4

2. 4 hours of studio time in Angels Gate Recording Studio, worth $500.00

3.  A live interview and performance on Plains FM 96.9

4. Casio WK 500 from Beggs Music Centre, worth $450.00 USD

5. One nights weekend accomodation for two people in one of the premier rooms, with two fully cooked breakfasts in the Garden Court Brasserie at Chateau on the Park

6. Bunch of flowers from Fi's Flowers n Art, Rangiora

7. Framed certificate from the Christchurch Garden City Trust

The top 15 finalists will receive: 

1. A interview and performance on Plains FM 96.9

2. Certificate from the Christchurch Garden City Trust

The Festival of Flowers Song Writing Competition Concert will be broadcasted on Plains Fm 96.9  



Terms and Conditions:

  • This competition is open to anyone who can compose a song and perform it
  • You can be any age & have any amount of people in your group
  • Live music only, no backing tracks
  • Open to all genres of music
  • Song must be no longer than 5 minutes
  • If chosen as a finalist you must be available to perform on Sunday 26th February
  • Original music only
  • You can enter as many times as you like, with one entry form for each entry
  • $5.00 entry fee- pay by cheque or internet banking
  • By entering the competition you hereby agree that all information is true and correct
  • The Festival of Flowers reserves the right to cancel or alter the competition at any time, due to unforeseen circumstances. As much notice as is possible will be given to all performers.

How to Enter:

  1. Record your song on a CD or tape
  2. Click on ENTRY FORM to download and complete an entry form or contact us to have one posted out to you
  3. Send your completed entry form, CD/tape recording, a copy of the lyrics and entry fee to us by the 10th February, 2012:
